My Boys

Today is Pat's Birthday!! He is definitely my favorite guy! I met this tall, skinny, good-looking guy in Lebanon...we became good friends and soul-mates long before falling in love. He is my best friend, my soul-mate, my husband...my guy!! I love him so. The other guy in my life is our son...Andraus. Born in a Hospital with a view of the Nile, almost 30 years ago....he is now a Doctor and is married to the most beautiful women, Amy...also a Physician. I love my guys...and Happy Birthday Sweatheart!!

Another Global Day

Remember that Global Window I talked about a few days ago? Well, it is still open. Just got back after the first day at Multnomah's Missions Conference. It was good. It is always so inspiring to rub shoulders with young people....and the conference has started good. Great worship and two interesting speakers this morning...then we had workshops. This year I got to teach a Workshop on Praying for the Nations. 17 brave souls came to my class and together we had a good time not only talking about prayer, but actually praying together....and then there were those God-appointed meetings with folks at our Display. God brings those He wants....I even met another Swede there today!! Awesome....

A Mix of Things

Just a short note from the Thurman House.....this was a good week...and interesting. Our GLOBAL WINDOW was opened for a little bit with the visit of our Swedish friend....who works all over the world....We have had lot's of GLOBAL input.... interspersed with a good doze of what you might call plain old fashion flu...yes, it was an interesting week.
So, we take one day at a time...resting in the Lord for our strength, generally being very encouraged to sit back and just watch our Father at work...Three of our VERY GOOD friends are heading out to the Regions Beyond...two are on their way out in another week or two....and my other friend in another few months....Heaven will be sooooo nice when we will re-unite with all our FRIENDS ....who are now scattered all over the world!
Speaking of friends.....can't stop thinking of what wonderful friends God has given us....did you know that they are sending us to Hawaii??? So, in order not to loose sight of what is to come (in'shallah- Lord willing) here is a reminder.....oh for a beach, a palm tree and a sunset!!

TWO Challenges

Today I heard TWO missions sermons. First I listened to our Swedish friend as he spoke about the needs of the World at a church across town. And tonight I went to College group and heard our Global Outreach Pastor challenge everyone to share their faith where God has put them. Quite a day. A lot of thougts to ponder after TWO mega challenges today. What did God challenge you with today?

A Visitor

We have a visitor in our house. Well, for those of you who know us.... that is nothing new...there is always someone else here at our house. But this visitor is from SWEDEN...my motherland. So he comes bringing not only that heavenly language with him...he also brought some Swedish chocolate. Yum. But he cool thing about our friend is not where he is from, or what he brings...no the cool thing is what GOD has called him to be involved in. He is presently the Director of a Relief and Developement work called Operation Mercy. They work primarily in the Turkic and Farsi speaking world. Right now they have several hundred people working in over 17 countries...doing all kinds of wonderful things. Want to know more? Here is a web site for you: www.mercy.se
PS. Tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY! At my age that is usually not something to get too excited about....but my dear husband thinks otherwise........wherever I turn in this house...there is a card!! You should see all the cards I have already!! And I got a NICE package from my dear kids in CA the other day. So, the celebration is on....and it is a good thing.
