This last week we went to California

We went there to attend the Memorial Service of Joan Henderson-Sparks, the Mother of our beloved Daughter-in-law Amy The service was at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fresno, California

Amy wrote and also read the Eulogy....it was a beutiful tribute to her Mom We grieve with Amy and her Step-Dad

Birthdays and Such

This last week it was my Birthday.....and I am so thankful to have friends and family across the world who send Birthday greetings....thanks everyone!! Here are some of the flowers and the cards and all that I got....oh boy for turning 60!!!!!

Taking Breaks and Being Sick

It is funny that in my house....at least when it comes to taking breaks and being sick....they always seem to go together. Unless I am sick or something, those frivolous, guilt-free breaks are not really part of my life. Who do I really think I am? Well, that is a good question. Somehow I ( and many with me) have decided that we are Superwomen or something and we go and go and go until we fall apart. Not even GOD Himself ran non-stop...He took a break. And I don't. A good friend of mine told me today that it would be good for me to take a break here and there....maybe even during one of those super full days....she is right. So now I have my break. And I am being sick. The couch looks good right now....with a roaring fired....a nice blanket...a Swedish Cross word puzzle....and I am set. I am taking my break. And should that zappy feeling of no energy, of aching all over persist....well, you know where to find me this weekend when I originally had 5 (FIVE) different things on my schedule....who do I really think I am??

Writing and Connecting

Just a quick thought this morning.....are you on Facebook? I am. That does not mean that I will ever stop or close my blog....in my opinion these are two different things....on Facebook you stay connected ....like sipping on a cup of coffee in Cyperspace while chatting with your friends...for that it is great....BUT on the other hand...when I want to write and write and write....and write....well, then I think there is a HUGE place for a blogspot....it is funny, in Europe, where I come from, the blog thing is big when it comes to expressing thoughts and opinions....and believe me, most Europeans have opinions....well, these were just some thoughts this morning.....now it is off to work and more serious stuff. Take care. And yes, even this ignorant Swede got into the Superbowlmania this year....it was actually an exciting game. :) Never thought I would say that.
