The End of Another Year
Don't know about you, but the end of a year is a good time to take stock, clean and organize...and most of all....out with the old, in with the new! So, here I am in my little office sorting away, ....and also coming across letters and cards from friends all over the world...and suddenly I feel so connected to many of you out and about. Imagine, going global in my little office across the garage in Gresham!! What can be better?

Christmas 2005
Christmas come and Christmas gone...well, if you are like most Americans, this is pretty much it...but not for this old European! Coming from Sweden where Christmas is a 3 day event, it really was a shock the first time I spent the Holidays here in America. But as part of a Global community, we adjust and enjoy...But you can imagine the excitement when we discovered that in Egypt, Christmas could be strechted a little further...because Christmas in Egypt looked like this....the Catholics celebrated Christmas on the 24th, the Americans on the 25th...and the Egyptian Coptic Christians on January 7th...(and the Armenians on January 6th). That's a whole lot of Christmases....and we didn't mind...it's a nice GRAND holiday! And we roll with it all...so here at the Thurmans house the tree stays up beyond it all.

Changing Back
As you can see...I decided to change back to my original template...never really liked the new one...now I hope you will enjoy my "new, old" page!!
That White Stuff

Well, that white stuff finally arrived where we live!! Looking out the window this morning, the world is more or less WHITE!! Will we get a white Christmas? I doubt it...it usually never happens in the part of Oregon where we are. Anyway, there is something else out there that is not so nice (although very pretty)....ICE!!! The white stuff that came down yesterday has been nicely coated with a layer of ice this morning......so our drive way is a very slippery slope...and we ain't going nowhere today. Doesn't really matter since our office is across the garage anyway!! Ebenezer, our cat is slightly confused...and one thing is for sure...he does NOT like winter!

December Notes

Greetings from a VERY cold Oregon!!
The temperatures actually go way below freezing most every night now...something we are not used to here in Oregon. It feels good to have a fire-place and that is where we hang out most of the time....Our tree is up, the house is decorated...Christmas music is filling the house...Well, all of this was up and running very early this time as I wanted to surprise the guys as they came back from Egypt. Now Andraus is back in California enjoying the palm trees and the sunshine...and we are looking forward to a slightly different Holiday this year...no kids, no family...so what do you do? You go out and "adopt" some folks...and that is what we have done... and we are looking forward to Christmas. Thinking of all of you around the Globe who are not with family....and all the "adopting" taking place all over...being part of the BODY...what would we do without it?
