Update # 8 Easter Sunday

Woke up this morning to the Village Church bells ringing, inviting folks to mass. This is a Catholic country and not a whole bunch of folks are really religious....BUT Easter Sunday is traditional, so there they came...with their umbrellas up as the rain was pouring down. One of the little shutters in the bell tower was even opened so we could hear the beautiful chime of the church bells....it was pretty. The clock on the bell tower on the other hand was really off and you could see that someone was working hard to get it right. They never did. But the chime was sure pretty. The Patty household slowly woke up and after a while we had lovely home made cinnamon rolls....and coffee...then the big Easter egg hunt started.

But first let me tell you about yesterday. Have already mentioned on FB a little bit about it....but I thought I would get some more pictures posted and tell you about this powerfules and unique time we had with the believers in Maribor. This is the second largest city in Slovenia, and it it out east. A few JV folks are out there church planting and together with the leadership of some of the other small churches in town, they had decided to make Saturday a day of prayer for their city. Andre, who works with JV and is a Slovene, had taken the initiative and started meeting with the pastors and leaders of the city. They were all excited to do this. We went out with Terry Jackson to join them. So each church group went up on one of the many hills surrounding the city to pray for an hour and then we all met together for a time of thanksgiving and fellowship. A unique time as unity and fellowship is something unique in this country. It was powerful to spend that time with the believers and pray specifically for areas, and people of the city. May God move in a strong way in Maribor.

Coming back home we had a lovely time making resurrection cookies with the Patty kids....and this morning we joined them as they had their annual Easter egg hunt .....Josh, the master Egg hider did a great job hiding eggs and goodies all over the house....and everyone had a GREAT time.!! Tonight we will join the believers at their church in worship....(church is in the evening here)...More about that later. Here are some pictures....
