Too Serious?

Well, I think the verdict is in....my last blog entry was way too serious for you out there...not a single comment. At the same time, what is there to say? The world is a serious place...We heard a terrific talk yesterday from one of our senior overseas workers..."...the world is a war-zone, and we live with God right in the middle of it...Him being our REFUGE, our DELIVERER...and we have to be available to Him...rescuing those who are dying...etc." It was a good reminder of the task...about the incredible position we have in Christ, but also about the task He has give us to "Go into the whole World....!" So, now you know, if I go serious on you...well, this is serious....although I will post pictures from my spring yard and a beautiful Columbia Gorge fairly soon....

Global Concerns

I don't know about you...but the news of the day is also a great indicator where my prayers need to be. Today there are several places places of great GLOBAL CONCERN.

• First there is ALGERIA, where many have come to faith in the last few year....government pressure is on the increase and the believers there are pleading with the church worldwide to PRAY. Are we?
• Then there is CHAD, and although I don't know all the details...I know that many workers living there are now evacuated...PRAY!
• Did you know that there are elections in PAKISTAN this week...are we praying? The believers in that country are asking believers around the world to PRAY!!
• And then we get an e-mail from our dear friends Steve and Tanja....and were are PRAYING for the political situation on the Balkan peninsula...as KOSOVO has now declared independance....
• Of course we continue to PRAY for KENYA...for a peaceful solution to the upheaval that has caused so much grief and despair in that country the last number of weeks. Not only for Kenya, but for so many of the nearby countries that are dependant on trade and supplies coming through Kenya.
• Did you know that there was an earthquake in RWANDA two weeks ago??

Oregon my Adopted Global Hangout

Now there are many beautiful spots around this globe...and many of them we have had the glorious opportunity to visit... BUT it never stops to amaze me how beautiful this state of Oregon is. I know, it is not my my native home, it is really my adopted home. And as such it is right now the fifth culture/ land that I live in as a resident. The pleasure that meets the eye around here is incredible. It really doesn't matter if it is raining, ( and it rains a lot!!) or if the sun shine...there is always something beautiful to gaze at. One of my favorite spots is this outlook right above the Columbia River out by Corbett....Wow is all I can say....then there are the many waterfalls out in the gorge...amazing!!

Amazing

This morning I was once again struck how amazing technology is ...after "talking" with my friend Jenni in Russia for a long time, then I read an amazing blog entry from Seth in Burundi...and another interesting update from Trina, also in Burundi. Plus e-mail this morning allows me to communicate with friends all around the globe...and yesterday, I talked with several of my family in Sweden...on the phone. Thank you God for blogs, SKYPE, phones and e-mail...communication possibilities galore!!

The End of A BLOG

Today I closed down my second blog A GLOBAL WINDOW....all because I will promote Global issues and other issues in this blog...writing in one place seems to be enough for me at this time. I hope that is fine with you.

A Special Weekend

This last weekend was very special at our church.....Dr. Val Shean and some of her friends from Uganda visited us and shared at special gatherings both Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
