Books, books, and books.....

It was a GRAND time!! Mission Connexion NW 2006 . But now it is over....done, in the past...or is it? I think it is still lingering very much in our minds as a great and memorable experience...and it was a good time of just that...CONNEXION. We were responsible for the main conference BOOKTABLE, and we had some great titles available...books on Mission, books on the Christians walk, and great Biographies...it was all there. Believe me, even in this day and age when so much is done on computers and in cyperspace...there are still folks out there who LOVE to read!! But Mission Connexion was much more than good books...there were some fantastic speakers, great worship and some really GOOD and interesting workshops. All in all it was a great place to be, connect and be recharged. After all that is what it is all about isn't it? To GO INTO THE WHOLE WORLD.....Are you on board??

Down to The Wire

Here at the Thurman House we are gearing up BIG TIME....the garage is full of boxes...with books for the main conference book table. Can't wait to set it up...get the books unpacked, stacked on the table and then start talking yourself silly about them!! It is so much fun to do this!! We meet a lot of great people....and we see a lot of good books go out.

Snow and Cold

Thursday morning we had SNOW here where we live!! I had take some pictures since we don't see snow too often down here....and now it is COLD!! Almost like Sweden!

Did you know that there is a really COOL missions conference coming up? Right here in Portland? January 19 - 20.....several hundred churches here in the area will get together and put on Mission Connexion Northwest (formerly Missions Fest NW). This year it is being held at Sunset Presbyterian Church out in Beaverton. I strongly recommend this event for anyone who is eager to know a little bit more of what's going on in the World....and how you, yes YOU can be involved. Come and hear awesome speakers.....choose between 120 workshops...check out over 70 exhibitores and recource booths...and buy inspiring Christian books from the main Conference Book table (yours truly running that one)...it should be an awesome event. All Things New

With a NEW year comes NEW resolutions....although making New Years Resolutions is nothing new and we are all guilty of making resolutions...and not keeping them.....I still think they are a good thing...so here I am, having made some definite resolutions this time around to be a good girl...that is making sure that I make healthy choices...It is really cool to be able to walk again...so that is one of my resolutions... And now, all of you who read my blog will be able to hold me to it....making sure that I walk, eat right, get enough sleep, and all what is involved in leading a balanced life... Still I desire to go full out....that is, going full out for my Lord...What could be a better choice?
